A shaky idle, a hesitation when you accelerate or a flashing engine light usually point to a misfire. We find the cylinder at fault and replace the spark plugs, coils or leads causing it.

About this service

A spark in the right place, every time

Each cylinder needs a strong spark at precisely the right moment. Spark plugs wear, and ignition coils can crack or fail with heat — and when one cylinder misfires, the whole engine runs rough.

Our scanner shows misfire counts per cylinder, so we can pinpoint the problem and replace just what’s needed — or a full set of plugs if they’re at their service interval.

FAQ

Ignition System questions

How often should spark plugs be replaced?

It varies a lot — from around 40,000 km for standard plugs to 100,000 km or more for iridium plugs. Your logbook has the interval.

Can a bad ignition coil damage my engine?

Driving with a misfire for a long time can overheat and damage the catalytic converter, so it’s worth fixing promptly.

Do you replace all the coils or just one?

Usually just the faulty one. If your car is high-mileage and the others are original, we may suggest replacing them together.
